Q:  What is a Content Management System?
A:  Software that enables one to add and/or manipulate content on a Web site. Typically, a CMS consists of two elements: the content management application (CMA) and the content delivery application (CDA). The CMA element allows the content manager or author, who may not know HTML, to manage the creation, modification, and removal of content from a Web site without needing the expertise of a Webmaster. The CDA element uses and compiles that information to update the Web site. The features of a CMS system vary, but most include Web-based publishing, format management, revision control, and indexing, search, and retrieval.

Q:  Is it easy for non-technical users who are familiar with word processors such as Microsoft Word, to publish content?
A:  IQue CMS presents authors with a web form where they enter the main article content including article title, teaser and body content. The form can be configured for specific requires and include more/fewer options are required by a specific user role.

Q:  What is a WYSIWYG?
A:  Pronounced WIZ-zee-wig. Short for what you see is what you get. A WYSIWYG application is one that enables you to see on the display screen exactly what will appear when the document is printed. This differs, for example, from word processors that are incapable of displaying different fonts and graphics on the display screen even though the formatting codes have been inserted into the file. WYSIWYG is especially popular for desktop publishing.

Q:  Does the authoring interface provide WYSIWYG editing of content?
A:  Yes. IQue CMS provides a rich editing interface for the article body content. Two versions of editor are available. Both provide familiar word processor functions and support text formatting, tables and images. The Advanced Editor also supports linked files, libraries, templates with editable/non-editable regions, styles and forms.

Q:  Does IQue CMS require custom software to be installed on an author's PC?
A:  No. IQue CMS tools are browser based. The rich editors do require authors to use Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.5 (or later) web browser on a Windows PC. All tools and editing body content via a basic text area is possible on other operating systems and browsers. Alternative rich editors are also available for these platforms but not provided as a standard part of IQue CMS.

Q:  How does the IQue CMS transfer content from the author environment to the live environment?
A:  By approval of the content. Content can be viewed in the live environment once the display parameter for a content item is set to "publish." However content is only released for access to readers/members of the site once approved.

Q:  Can you create multiple users with different access rights?
